Thank you for your interest in learning more about my work and the products I have to offer. My name is J Sitter, I am a designer/artisan, founder and sole employee of Tao Concrete. I make unique furniture and items by combining wood with concrete and steel.

My career as a furniture designer and artisan started in 2011 when I launched my first business, TAO Concrete

by 2013 I made the final leap going full time into furniture maker

my years of working as a trim carpenter while also studying Construction Management at Northern Arizona University.

The more my knowledge as a builder developed, and the more experienced I became with my hands and working with different materials and tools, the more my passion grew to build the ideas I had in my mind so it became my obsession to start investing in my own tools and building a workshop capable of converting my ideas into manifested form.

Over the past 15 years I’ve mostly built custom commissions for luxury private residences to commercial office spaces, restaurants, hotels and casinos; I’ve worked directly with each client, small and large design firms, purchasing agents to create and produce the perfect piece for your space.

Moving into 2026, my ambitions have me focused less on commissions and more on cultivating my own authenticity as a designer and the way I relates to the materials i work with and ideas i wish to manifest …

i hope that through my creations and through documenting my process, i can connect with a community that share an alignment of appreciation not only for the craft, but also for each unique process and overall physical manifestation that each piece expresses.
